This course prepares and equips lay counsellors to be educated and successful in improving people’s mental health and well-being in a range of contexts, such as churches, schools, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and faith-based groups. We also investigate how to manage structured psycho-educational activities in personal and group interventions, as well as how to assess their performance and give a grasp of people, ideas, and concepts in the field of human behaviour.
Landmark College Community Counselor curriculum seeks to teach and equip lay counsellors to be informed and successful in making a difference in the mental health and well-being of persons in a range of contexts, including churches, schools, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and faith-based organisations (FBOs).
Students who have completed this qualification at Landmark College South Africa will be able to understand the historical development and current status of psychology in understanding human behaviour, as well as identify issues that young people face in the context of certain South African realities.
